i shake my head like that
how the night falls, almost always bear like
having a crush, man it's bliss
i just feel like ripping my face off
and it puts me on a wonderful moon
and we're going somewhere
and we're shouting somewhere
eating cold, juicy oranges to this
i'd rather be dry, but i'll still go skinny dipping
ooh, all the blue, man it fits
i just miss saying i like it the way it is
and it puts me on a wonderful moon
and we're going somewhere
and we're shouting somewhere
HERE'S OUR SOULS!
and we'll shut the world off now
we'll be over at your house
we'll be best experienced some place comfortable and quiet
...
me, oh my.
and we're goin' somewhere...
soon.
grar
won't you walk with me? won't you?
cause i've been walking all winter long without you
and i've been wondering about you
so won't you call me on the telephone? won't you?
cause our minds get lost with the moon so high,
and our blood runs black, when we hold in our cry
so aroo, aroo, lift your throats to the sky,
and sing to the night what crawls through your insides -
i crawl through your insides
mirror, mirror on the wall
can you help define me, or not at all?
the leaves are falling,
and i am following them down
so won't you call on me?
'cause you won't want to come the morning,
and when the spring has come,
it'll all be done
so let's touch while we still know how
before the season change and make us understand
that that's what life is all about
the sweaty palm of your true love's aging hand
and they'll find our bodies
all lying and rotting on hillsides
stacked on each other
we'll touch like we wanted in lifetime
so it's la-de-da-de-da-de-da-de-da
la dum
and we're losing grace by saving our face,
cause we're all everything that nobody's wanting (x2)
so come on
and we pack in basements,
shoulder to shoulder, no talking
ignoring the sweat that you drip on my elbow,
i'm smiling
cause it's la-de-da-de-da-de-da-de-da
la dum
and we're losing grace by saving our face,
cause we're all everything that nobody's wanting
yeah, you're just everything that nobody's wanting
and hell, i'm everything that nobody's wanting
alone in your house,
i'll build you something
out of nothing
at all, at all
and the rain it is pouring
at your window
i can't make a sound
without you around,
i'm not around
and these blankets,
they are pulling me to bed
to lay down my head
but not all's been said,
yeah, not all's been said
so i'll wear these headphones,
just listenin' to nothin'
so i won't hear
the song
i'm workin' on
and these blankets,
they are pulling me to bed
to lay down my head
but not all's been said,
yeah, not all's been said
i close my little eyes,
as i try to understand,
what it is i am so diligently
looking for
and it seems as though,
i am running in circles,
around what it is
i know i love that most
...thanksgiving ep is oshwa's first self release, recorded over october/november 2011, in bedrooms, garages, and gymnasiums spanning the chicagoland area. the ep is a collection of songs that just HAD to be recorded before oshwa could keep growin'. oshwa and friends made almost 100 handmade covers for the release, numbering them and distributing them at shows (for free!) between brooklyn and the midwest.
pictures of the covers will be up soon on the almost-ready oshwa website, so stay tuned!

If you like post-rock AND jazz, buy this great album and the other one they released on Bandcamp. I've not been listening to anything as original as this music for a very long time. 8.5/10 sergpot
